The Times-Picayune had four floats at Mardi Gras 2013 in New Orleans, and the media organization didn’t produce any of them. The floats were satirical and poked fun at The T-P’s move to a three-day-a-week print paper. We were fascinated by the floats. We come from a newspaper background, but the only way our papers would have been represented in a parade is if the paper made the float. We are aware of four Times-Picayune floats this year: Krewe du Vieux, Krewe d’Etat, Chaos and Muses.

Wonderful! As the former society photographer for the T-P, I particularly enjoy seeing Chaos’s take on it and how the upper class spoofed itself with the Society Page graphic. Wonderful stuff. Thanks for your work, Carlie.
Thank you for checking out the post! I thought Chaos was fun, too. Muses won for best costume, in my opinion. How adorable are those little press hats?
I follow y’all on Instagram. Best view of Mardi Gras by far! Thanks for these.
Thanks for following us, Lori! We’re excited about our new city. And, we’re open to suggestions about ways to improve.
