The Friends of City Park are hosting a spring garden show this weekend geared toward home gardeners and the professionals. Just in time to help us get our dirt fix for the weekend. Have we mentioned how much we love the gorgeous plants and flowers in New Orleans? Absolutely stunning.
What you can expect at the event:
- Plant and garden products, exhibits & sales throughout the garden
- Kids discovery area
- Educational programs
- Music, arts & craft sales in the azalea garden

11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. “Summer Flowering Vines” with Dan Gill, LSU AgCenter
1 p.m. – 2 p.m. “Louisiana Irises: A Native Plant Returns Home” with Patrick O’Connor, Zydeco Irises & Lousiana Iris Society
2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. “Common Diseases of the Home Vegetable Garden” with Andrew Loyd, LSU AgCenter, Orleans Parish Horticulture Agent
Sunday, April 7
11:30 am – 12:30 pm “Louisiana Super Plants” with Regina Bracy, LSU AgCenter
1 p.m. – 2 p.m. “The Cottage Garden” with Tammany Baumgarden, Louisiana Master Gardener of Greater New Orleans
2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. “The Natural, Edible Garden” with Amber Parker, Louisiana Master Gardener of Greater New Orleans
The “Plant Doctor” Nick Singh from the LSU AgCenter Plant Diagnostic Center also will be on hand to answer questions about plant disease and insect and weed problems.
