Patsy R. Brumfield, the Southfacin’ Cook, is busy with her real job so we’re taking a week off from her food column.
In her real life, Patsy is the reporter in North Mississippi breaking stories about the person who mailed a poison-filled letter to President Obama.
Good reminder:
All New in NOLA writers and editors are volunteers. We have other jobs, and we write for New in NOLA because we think it’s fun and we enjoy participating in the newcomer community. When we don’t have a daily update that usually means we are busy paying the bills. But don’t worry. We have loads of advice we’ve found useful in New Orleans and we want to share it all.
Anyway, Patsy will be back with another recipe next week.
Until then, check out her previous recipes and admire Patsy’s gorgeous spring garden with Elvis flair:

Patsy R. Brumfield writes a weekly food column for NewinNOLA.com. But, she’s a full-time reporter for The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal in Tupelo. This week, she’s been busy covering the hunt for the person who mailed a ricin-filled letter to President Obama. This is one of her stories. Paul Kevin Curtis, referenced in this story, was later released and cleared. Investigators are pursuing other leads now. (photo by Carlie Kollath Wells/New in NOLA)

Patsy R. Brumfield is an Elvis Presley fan and it’s obvious by her home decor choices. We love her cutting board. (photo by Carlie Kollath Wells/New in NOLA)
